That Time Channellock Made a Wilde Designed Tool for Sears Craftsman

Today's vintage find is a "Craftsman Vanadium" gripper plier from the 1930's-40's.
This design of plier was invented by Wilde Tool, with a unique idea to provide a 'third jaw' of support for gripping nuts.
However, this one wasn't manufactured by Wilde, but by Channellock. Likely due to some sort of patent licensing agreement?
It also has some of the most beautiful checkering patterns on the grips.
