🌿 Faith, Hope, and Love in the Promise of Christ 🌿
Beloved in Christ, welcome back to our Sacred Legacies series.

On September 17, we remember St. Sophia and her three daughters—Faith, Hope, and Love—who bore witness to Christ with their blood. Their story is the living image of St. Paul’s teaching: salvation is not found in human Law, but in the promise fulfilled in Christ.

We also honor the holy bishops Herakleides and Myron of Cyprus, and continue in the afterfeast of the Holy Cross, the sign of God’s promise and our victory.

📖 Our readings today—Galatians 3:15–25 and Mark 6:7–13—remind us to trust not in works of the Law, but in God’s promise through Christ, and to walk boldly as bearers of the Gospel.

✨ Saints of the Day ✨
🔹 Sophia & Her Daughters: Faith, Hope, and Love
These young girls—ages 12, 10, and 9—suffered martyrdom under Hadrian while their mother Sophia (“Wisdom”) stood firm. Their very names proclaim the virtues that remain eternal: faith, hope, and love (1 Corinthians 13:13).

🔹 Herakleides & Myron, Bishops of Cyprus
Holy bishops who guided their flock with love and boldness, reminding us that the inheritance of God’s people comes not through the Law, but through Christ.

🔹 Afterfeast of the Holy Cross
The Cross is proof that Christ became “a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13). What once meant shame and death became victory and life. The Cross is not punishment—it is the path into God’s promise.

📖 Scripture Study I: Galatians 3:15–25
St. Paul teaches that the Law was a tutor, but only Christ brings life.
Works of the Law cannot save; faith justifies.
Christ took on the curse of the Law by hanging on the Cross—His curse became our blessing.
The promise to Abraham was secure before the Law and fulfilled in Christ.
Now Christ Himself is our Teacher.

🧠 Mind: Understand Christ as the fulfillment of God’s promise.
💪 Body: Bear your struggles as a cross, joined to Christ’s redemption.
❤️ Soul: Live in faith, hope, and love, which endure forever.

📖 Scripture Study II: Mark 6:7–13
Jesus sent His disciples out with nothing but faith, and they healed, preached, and cast out demons.

Faith, Hope, and Love went forth with nothing but faith—their witness shook the empire.
Herakleides and Myron lived as faithful disciples, shepherding in simplicity and power.
The Cross is the source of this same authority and mission.

🧠 Mind: Trust God’s promise above worldly security.

💪 Body: Live, free from fear.

❤️ Soul: Know that Christ equips you—His Spirit speaks through you.
🌟 Closing Wisdom 🌟

Today’s saints and Scriptures call us to embrace the wisdom of Sophia and her daughters:

The Law cannot save, but Christ has fulfilled the promise.
The Cross turns curse into blessing, death into life.
The mission of the Church is lived in simplicity, courage, and faith.

Takeaway for today: Faith, hope, and love are not abstract—they are alive in Christ. Let us walk in His promise, embrace our crosses, and proclaim the Gospel with boldness. 🙏
