Jim Hoft: Stephen King is an asshole lying about Charlie Kirk

Jim Hoft: It is a very sad moment. You know, I was going through my text messages from Charlie today and something caught my attention. This was a few years ago. He was at his events and being attacked by some fringe group that was harassing him. They were rude, asking him about gays, gay rights, and gay sexual acts, trying to corner him. They thought that would be a good way to bring Charlie Kirk down.

You know, Charlie could have given up. He could have said he didn’t want to be around gays or something like that. Some people might do that. But Charlie stood firm and confronted them.

In fact, I sent you a message he once sent me—it was a tweet that included a video of Charlie responding to one of these guys. And I thought to myself, Charlie didn’t have to do that. I don’t talk about my sexuality. I run Gateway Pundit, one of the most powerful conservative sites in the country and in the world. And I don’t talk about who I am as a person or about my partner. But Charlie knew this and he sent it to me, and I thought, what a kind moment. And that’s who Charlie was.

So when I hear someone like Stephen King, that idiot, talking about how Charlie wanted to kill gays and stone them, it’s not just that what the media says isn’t true—because it isn’t. They’re lies about Charlie, just like they’re lies about you and me all the time. Not only is it not true, it’s the complete opposite. Charlie defended gays, and I think it’s very important that people understand that. I think it’s very important that the gay community understands that. I think it’s important that the critical mass waking up in America understands that: Charlie was not someone who despised gays. He was someone who welcomed them.

Charlie supported so many groups. For example, he brought some black conservatives to the White House for an event. He formed a group of pastors and wasn’t afraid to support someone. He wasn’t afraid to say that he supported gays. For me, that was very moving. That was Charlie Kirk, and today I saw that, which touched me a little because he was truly a great man, and we’re going to miss him. Thank you for having me today.

It was a truly emotional event, and I am going to miss Charlie.
