Uganda's General Kainerugaba Visits China To Boost Military Ties | Firstpost Africa

Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is in China for high-level military engagements. Uganda and China have signed a new defence cooperation agreement as Kainerugaba met his Chinese counterpart, General Liu Zhenli. The talks focused on military training and peace support operations. Uganda said that the two sides have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen defence ties. Before the closed-door talks, the Ugandan general was welcomed with military honours. Kainerugaba is also expected to attend a military conference during his official visit to China. This meeting is likely to be attended by his counterparts from various other nations. The Ugandan general's visit to China is seen as an opportunity to strengthen defence ties between Kampala and Beijing.
