Pam Bondi steps in it….again

Attorney General Pam Bondi has quite a few missteps while in her current position. The latest was claim that “hate speech” and free speech are somehow separate. She contends that so-called hate speech is punishable by law and stated that she intends to target those who are “targeting anyone with hate speech”. The attorney general might want to read up on what the supreme court has said regarding hate speech. While I, along with most decent people, think that those who use hate speech and hateful rhetoric should be ostracized from decent society, they nevertheless have a right to speak hatefully, and society has the right to refuse to accept them if they are unacceptable. Confidence in the current AG is dwindling as the American people see this as not her first stumble on a big issue. If she is going to continue in this job without losing the backing of the people who voted for President Trump, she might be better served to spend a little more time in her law books and a little less time in front of cameras for podcasters and Fox News.
