Task Force 78: Happy Birthday Galactica!

We're celebrating the 47th anniversary of Battlestar Galactica with Kenneth Mayes' VFX and the original series outro.

Battlestar Galactica first premiered on September 17, 1978, on the ABC television network.

The pilot episode, titled "Saga of a Star World," was broadcast in a special 148-minute format, though it was interrupted midway for a special news report on the Camp David Accords. After the interruption, the broadcast resumed from the point it left off. Despite this, the series garnered high Nielsen ratings and became a cultural touchstone for science fiction television.
