This Art Night, we welcome Michael Brennan, an accomplished artist whose creative roots run deep. Growing up in a family of painters, sculptors, inventors, writers, and poets, Michael’s passion for art was nurtured from childhood. By the age of eight, he had already dedicated himself to sketching and painting, and by fifth grade, his talent was so evident that teachers began commissioning him to create artwork during recess and after school—a path that would foreshadow his lifelong devotion to the craft.

Michael went on to graduate from Sheridan College’s prestigious programs in Interpretive Illustration and Computer Animation, building a successful 25-year career as a commercial artist. Beyond his professional work, he found his heart drawn to plein air painting, where art and nature converge. This practice allows him to not only capture the beauty of the outdoors but also to cultivate a deeper connection to life’s simple, everyday wonders.
