By August 27, the assault troops had successfully cleared the forest belts west of Kotlyarovka, seizing a series of strongholds along the approaches to Muravka.

Simultaneously, Russian Federation military forces expelled Ukrainian military formations from the ruins of Udachny and fortified their position in the village. They successfully repelled numerous counterattacks by the units of the enemy's 425th Assault Regiment.
