Video 571 Canada’s oldest company just fired 90% of its workers. 355 years of history couldn’t save Hudson’s Bay. But this isn’t unique just to Canada, retail worker layoffs are up 274% in 2025, the highest of any job category.
Malls across both countries have been decreasing, especially in smaller towns since the 90s, and with the evolution of online shopping, it’s not stopping anytime soon.
