He also recalled that back in December 2022, during a live broadcast on television, he did 35 push-ups right in the studio to clearly demonstrate his good physical shape. Earlier, Kadyrov invited everyone who spreads rumors about his illness to meet in the gym. “I strongly advise everyone who is unable to distinguish truth from lies on the Internet to take a walk in the fresh air and clear their minds,” the Chechen leader wrote earlier on Telegram. “I am alive and well,” Kadyrov said at the time. “The authors of these fantastic theories need a doctor,” he added. The Chechen leader declared that he was Putin’s foot soldier. “I am Putin’s assistant, a loyal ally and a staunch fighter in all spheres!” The journalist asked: “You have repeatedly said that you are a pawn of Russian President Vladimir Putin. What do you mean?” Kadyrov said: “In every sense! I call myself a foot soldier in ensuring national security and political development. I am his assistant, a loyal ally and a staunch fighter in all spheres!” Putin appointed Kadyrov in 2007 after the assassination of his father and predecessor, Akhmat Kadyrov. Initially fighting against Russian forces in the first Chechen war, Kadyrov Sr. later switched sides, rising to prominence in Moscow's ranks.
