North Korean state media show leader Kim with drones

On Thursday, North Korean state media released images of leader Kim Jong-un inspecting a drone and missile drill.

According to the Associated Press, the photos have not been independently verified.In one image, Kim stands in front of a large drone that looks like an American Reaper drone.

Other images show the drone in the air, as well as missiles striking targets, which Kim watches.

Kim called for increased production of drones, KCNA reported.Kim Jong-un's government has repeatedly rejected calls from Seoul and Washington to resume talks aimed at rolling back its weapons programs as it continues to prioritize Russia as part of a foreign policy aimed at expanding ties with countries opposed to the United States.Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Kim has sent thousands of troops and large shipments of weapons, including artillery and ballistic missiles, to help President Vladimir Putin support the fighting.
