EP.1 Artificial World

Welcome to Babelon, where I will discuss my experiences living in a time that feels increasingly dystopian each day. Together, we'll navigate these challenging times and seek understanding in a world that's constantly changing.

Babelon is a play on words, incorporating the words babe, Babel, and Babylon.
In the biblical book of Genesis, the story of the Tower of Babel talks about a time whenever the people of Earth built a giant tower to reach the heavens. God saw their city and tower, and was concerned that humanity's unity and ambition could lead them to do anything they desired, potentially causing harm. God confused the language of the people, causing them to no longer understand each other.
I find this story to be particularly relevant in these modern times. Our algorithms are curated for us, therefore each of our perceptions of reality are distorted. As a result, we are all, in a sense, speaking completely different languages.
Babylon was an ancient city in Mesopotamia, and is also referenced in the book of Revelations as a great city known for its immorality, wealth, and influence. It is often seen as a symbol of worldly corruption and opposition to God.

Some episodes will be solo reflections, while others will feature conversations with other inquiring minds.
