The story begins in the Gospels… but it does not end there.

The Base of Mount Hermon — Where Jesus Faced Demons
In the Gospel of Mark, we are brought to a dramatic scene: a boy convulsing, foaming at the mouth, overtaken by a violent spirit. His father pleads with Jesus, desperate for help after the disciples had failed

Demons are parasites of the spirit, feeding on the brokenness of mankind.

Little Children and the Warning of Christ
The religious leaders, Pharisees and teachers of the law, were constantly circling, waiting for Jesus to trip over a word. Yet in this moment of spiritual warfare, Jesus places a small child among them.

He gathers the child into His arms and declares:

“Whoever receives one of these little children in my name receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not only me but Him who sent me.”

Then comes His sobering warning:

“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were cast into the sea.”

On the surface, this may seem disconnected. But Trey points out how these echoes of ancient idols resurface in unexpected places.

In Santa Fe, for example, stands the famous Rainbow Man shop, founded in 1945—the same year the atomic bomb was first tested. Step into its alleyways and you’ll find them lined with idols, ancestor figures, and Day of the Dead imagery.

From ancient caves to modern storefronts, the cycle of idol-making continues. And scripture is clear:

“You shall not make for yourself a graven image… you shall not bow down to them or serve them.” — Exodus 20:4-5

Yet idols—whether carved in stone or crafted in culture—remain placeholders for the demonic.

The Apostle Paul wrote:

“The works of the flesh are evident: idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife… but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…” — Galatians 5:19-22
