In scripture, the day of the Lord is connected with the Jerusalem temple as 2 Thessalonians indicates. This causes futurists, who hold to a future “second coming”, to believe that the temple that Jesus correctly prophesied would be destroyed, will be rebuilt, immersing the believer in materialistic thinking.

The meaning of this event is obscured by futuristic assumptions and must be comprehended using a sound, contextual hermeneutic allowing scripture to interpret scripture. We are espousing “fulfilled eschatology”.
