Nugget to Nibble:

Chapter 17 is a continuation of the seventh bowl judgment. One of the seven angels speaks to John to explain the judgment of the “great harlot who sits on many waters” (Revelation 17:1). This harlot exceeds others as she is described as great. Nothing compares to her excessive that led prominent kings of the earth to commit acts of immorality and caused the people to get drunk on immorality (Revelation 17:2). God’s purposes will stand as the peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues will hate the system they worshipped (Revelation 17:16).
