📑Lease is over, 🏡 tenants are gone… but the yard’s overgrown and🔑🌿 I can’t even get in the front! 😬

I headed out today to do a check-up on a rental home where the tenants’ lease is almost over — and they’ve already decided not to renew. Part of my job as a property manager is to get ahead of the turnover process: checking the property condition, making notes for repairs, and prepping for the next tenants.

But when I arrived, it didn’t look like anyone was even home… and then I noticed something that made the visit more urgent.

👉 A notice from the city was posted on the property for having a trashy, overgrown lawn. Not exactly the impression we want to leave for neighbors, the city, or potential future tenants.

💡 Why this matters:

Overgrown lawns and trash can quickly lead to fines or violations for homeowners.

Staying proactive allows us to step in before issues pile up.

Documenting conditions near the end of a lease helps with move-out accountability and ensures the next tenants inherit a clean, compliant property.

This is the reality of property management: not just collecting rent, but keeping properties in compliance, neighbors happy, and homeowners protected.

Time to tackle the issue, document everything, and get this property back on track. Let’s Get to Work! Let’s Go! 💪
