📞Calling a tenant being evicted⚖️… he wants to stay. Am I helping or being too lenient?? 🤔

Today I got on the phone with a tenant who is in the process of being evicted for nonpayment. He wants to stay in the home — and as a property manager, I’d like to help if there’s a realistic solution.

But here’s the dilemma:

🤝 Should I work with him to create a plan that allows him to stay?

⚠️ Or would that be too lenient and irresponsible with the homeowner’s property?

At the end of the day, my fiduciary duty is to the homeowner. Their investment and financial return come first. But if there’s a way to balance compassion with accountability, it could be a win for everyone involved.

💡 Why this matters in property management:

Tenants want stability — many will ask for second chances when facing eviction.

Homeowners expect accountability — unpaid rent means lost money, lost time, and lost trust.

Property managers must walk the line — being firm on the lease while navigating real human challenges.

👉 In situations like this, it’s not just about rules — it’s about judgment calls. Every decision reflects on professionalism, homeowner trust, and the future of tenant relations.

Does he accept the help? Or do we move forward with eviction? This is the real side of property management most people never see.

Let’s Get to Work! Let’s Go! 💪
