Michael takes us through his wild path from sneak-watching Saturday Night Live at volume “3” in a Pentecostal household, to one of his very first sets where he dropped the C-word three times during somebody’s steak dinner — and got told, politely but firmly, never come back. From there it was a break, a reset, and eventually a return to comedy with sharper stories and way more control of the mic.

We dive into the Texas comedy boom, his upcoming song If I Was Gay, I’d F** Ryan Gosling*, and the bizarre overlap of his past lives — from drumming in church bands to touring the country as a Christian music artist, to serving in the Marines while his mom terrified recruiters and boot camp drill instructors. Along the way we get moose-knuckle high school playbill photos, Star Wars fandom, awkward VHS porn confessions, and the entrepreneurial grind of selling door-to-door freezer meat with his dad.
