UN approves video address by Palestine’s Abbas after US visa refusal

The President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, will address the UN on Monday, after the General Assembly voted to allow him to join remotely. The US has refused to issue him a visa to attend in person.
Abbas was among 80 Palestinian officials whose visas were revoked by the US State Department, citing national security concerns.
