Well hey there, folks. Sam Fox here with Uncle Sam’s Blues.
This one’s called Lay That Gavel Down — a raw Delta blues tune that kicks off slow and heavy, then blows up into a front-porch Southern rock jam. I wrote it about these activist judges swingin’ their gavels, tryin’ to shut down the people’s will. From Alcatraz to the borders to the courts, they keep bendin’ the law — but the blues has a way of settlin’ accounts.

I start it off alone with just my guitar and harp, then the whole band comes crashin’ in like a revival on the porch. It’s loud, it’s rough, and it’s proud — the way the blues oughta be.
