In the Nevada desert, just outside the town of Lovelock, lies a cave steeped in mystery and legend. According to Paiute oral tradition, it was once the lair of the Si-Te-Cah—giant, red-haired cannibals who were driven into the cavern and burned alive.

In 1911, miners digging guano inside Lovelock Cave uncovered thousands of artifacts—woven baskets, sandals far too large for normal feet, and even human remains with reddish hair. Archaeologists later confirmed the cave’s long history of habitation, but the truth about the “giants” remains debated.

Were these discoveries evidence of a lost race, or simply myth woven around unusual findings? Some argue remains were hidden or covered up, while others point to natural explanations for the red hair and exaggerated tales of height.

Join The Nocturnal Archives as we uncover the truth, the folklore, and the enduring mystery of the Giants of Lovelock Cave.
