Chana Chaat Recipe
Ingredients:
Boiled white gram – 2 cups,Finely chopped onion – 1 medium,Finely chopped tomato – 1 mediumFinely chopped green chillies – 1 to 2 (to taste),Boiled potato (chopped) – 1 medium,Green coriander – 2 tablespoons (chopped),Mint – 1 tablespoon (chopped, optional),Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons, Chaat Masala – 1 teaspoon,Salt – to taste,Red Chilli Powder – ½ teaspoon (if desired),Tamarind Chutney – 2 tablespoons (optional but delicious),Yogurt – 2-3 tablespoons (optional),Paprika or Nameen – as required (for topping)
Method / Recipe
In a large bowl, add boiled chickpeas, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves and mint.Add chaat masala, salt, red chillies and lemon juice to it.Mix well so that all the spices are coated on the chickpeas.If desired, add tamarind chutney and curd, it will enhance the taste.Before serving, sprinkle papri, namkeen or sev on top to give it a crispy touch.
Tips:
If the chickpeas seem hard, soak them overnight and boil them well.It tastes better when served chilled.Add the yogurt and tamarind chutney at the end so that the chaat doesn't become soft.
