No traces of toxins, alcohol or tranquilizers were found in Sheila's body. Microfibers that did not match the materials inside the house were found on the deceased's clothing and on some pieces of furniture. According to the autopsy results, death was caused by severe craniocerebral trauma, accompanied by massive blood loss. Despite the injuries inflicted, there were no signs of a prolonged struggle. There were also no signs of defensive wounds on the hands or forearms, which allowed the investigation to assume that the attack was swift and took the woman by surprise. Particular attention was paid to the position of the body, as well as the blood pattern on the floor and walls - the nature of the splashes and the direction of the streaks allowed forensic scientists to determine with high accuracy the point from which the blow was delivered.
