The Truth Behind Homelessness: Mental Illness vs. Addiction

The debate over why people become homeless is never-ending.

Some people blame addiction, some cite mental illness, and others straight up say homeless people are lazy, and feed off the system.

I'm not here to settle that debate; I'm here to discuss one specific homeless person I stumbled across in the lovely community of Niles, Michigan.

Did I talk to this man? Did I learn his story, and am now offering an informed take on what happened?

No.

Did I make a snap judgment, and am now dropping a short in order to get clicks and likes and feed my empty soul and search out internet fame, that people may like, follow, and subscribe?

Maybe?

Do I post a video a day, and will thus throw up whatever content I can in the moment, just to feed the machine?

Yes.

That said, I did find the situation amusing.

Not, "OMG, SO FUNNY!" belly-laugh funny.

But "wry smile" amusing.

And I hope you do, as well.
