Welcome to Metal Album Warfare Fridays here on the channel. That’s right this series is back and it’s not going anywhere because I love making these videos for you guys as well. I hope you’ve enjoyed all of the content on the channel!
So tonights battle is another black metal war between 2 one man black metal elites with 2 incredible classics of misanthropic DSBM with Xasthur-Telepathic With The Deceased going up against Leviathan-Tentacles Of Whorror. Now both of these albums were released in 2004 on Moribund Records.

If you know anything about Xasthur and or Leviathan than you know that both of these acts make some of the darkest, hateful, atmospheric music of all time. Both of these acts formed in the mid 90s and are among the pioneers of the 3rd wave of black metal, particularly USBM along with acts like Judas Iscariot and I Shalt Become. Xasthur and Leviathan are widely regarded as 2 of the bands to pioneer DSBM.

Of course Bethlehem and Strid are the forefathers but Xasthur and Leviathan took it to even darker extremes and incorporated a lot more atmosphere and dissonance to their approach to the genre. These approaches from both of these acts lend something very special and unique to DSBM and the craft they have chosen to pour their pain and hatred into is nothing short of astounding, complex and truly gut wrenchingly authentic!
