We have 2 of my favorite bands in the genre with Ahab-The Call Of The Wretched Sea Vs Nortt-Ligfaerd . The Call Of The Wretched Sea was released in 2006 on Napalm Records and Ligfaerd was released in 2006 on Total Holocaust Records. I have done a full review of The Call Of The Wretched Sea as well, I have yet to review ligfaerd but it is coming so don’t worry.

So of course The Call Of The Wretched Sea takes the win but that’s not to say that Ligfaerd isn’t an absolute beast of a record because it is. The fact is that The Call Of The Wretched Sea is that fucking perfect and sick man! I mean like I said in the fuckin review I have not heard anything this fucking compelling in the funeral doom genre besides Bell Witch.
