Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were forced to walk up an escalator on Tuesday when it suddenly broke as the couple entered the UN headquarters in Manhattan.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt immediately cited a report by The Times on Sunday that noted UN staff had 'joked' that they could turn off the escalators and elevators in the building.
