Welcome to Our Republic.

It’s the shortest of the first three, but don’t let that fool you. In just a few paragraphs, the Framers created an independent judiciary — a branch not controlled by kings, presidents, or parliaments. A branch built to interpret the Constitution itself and hold the other two branches accountable.

Article Three created the courts.
