The story of The Disrupters, a punk band from Norwich, England

In 1980 four young punks decided to form a band, although they had more enthusiasm than talent but that didn't matter, this was what punk was all about.

That band became The Disrupters.

With with no real idea of what they were doing it was never an easy ride but it was always a compulsion. Heavily influenced by Crass they soon found a niche in the "anarcho punk" scene of the 1980's and got involved in direct actions such as hunt sabbing, animal rights and 'Stop the City' demos, and all that inspired their music.

There were two periods for band; 1980-88 and then again from 2007-2011.

The band's personel changed over time but founder memebr and frontman Steve Hansell was in the line up for the entirety. The Disrupters are no more but this is their story warts and all.
