I just watched Phil Labonte’s post “here’s 20 min of Destiny endorsing political violence”, and I’m gravely concerned. If someone with a platform is repeatedly saying things that push political violence, even implicitly or rhetorically, there must be real consequences. In this reaction, I break apart what Destiny allegedly said, highlight where language crosses the line, and call out the hypocrisy of “just joking” or “it’s just rhetoric.” We can’t let words become weapons without accountability.

Labonte emphasizes that this is not isolated — he claims this pattern goes back and is part of how Destiny uses language.

Why I’m Criticizing Destiny Here:
Because influence matters. When someone has a following, what they say can shape beliefs, actions, and norms. If Destiny is endorsing political violence — even subtly — that contributes to escalation, not safety. That’s not just “being edgy.” That’s dangerous. I believe creators must own their words; if your audience hears calls for violence, real or implied, there should be accountability.
