Farewell to the Harrimans* (sic)

For this program, Jon Porter screened a presentation that the late CCRC member Bill Spiller put together of the 1985 Central Coast “Farewell to the Harrimans* (sic)” excursion specials. Bill’s presentation is around an hour long; it shows a lot of Central Coast members (Art Lloyd, Ed Graham and many others) and provides a fascinating look at the Peninsula line at the end of the SP era. Since this is the 40" anniversary of these excursion specials, it seems like an appropriate program to show at this time!
* The actual Harrimans were 60 feet long and built for the Harriman-controlled railroads between 1909 and 1912. These
cars were retired by the 1970s. The cars retired in 1985 were actually the "Suburbans," built in the 1920s.
