The head of the FBI in Dallas, Joe Rothrock, confirmed that the federal agency is investigating the recent shooting at one of the city’s ICE facilities as an “act of targeted violence.” According to Rothrock, this incident is not isolated but rather adds to a troubling series of similar attacks that have taken place in North Texas.

“I can confirm at this time that the FBI is investigating this incident as an act of targeted violence. Unfortunately, it is just the latest example we have seen of targeted violence, including here in North Texas,” he stated.

The attack has heightened authorities’ concerns about the increase in such incidents in the region, particularly against federal institutions responsible for enforcing immigration law. Although no further details have yet been released about those responsible, the FBI emphasized that the investigation remains active and that it is working in coordination with other local and federal agencies to clarify the facts.

The incident comes amid growing political tension over immigration policies, where polarized rhetoric has created a hostile environment toward law enforcement. The investigation seeks to determine not only the material authorship of the attack but also whether there is an ideological background or a support network behind it.
