Holding Algonac Accountable – Sandra Simmons

Sandra Simmons from Algonac, Michigan, joins Eileen to talk about how her life went from being a wife, mother and grandmother to a local activist. Without a computer or internet, Sandra shares how she slowly and painstakingly exposed the Algonac City Council’s violation of the Open Meetings Act.

I have resided in the City of Algonac for the past 6 years. As a Christian wife, mother and grandmother, my priority has always been to take care of my family. My youngest is Matthew United States staff sergeant who served in Afghanistan. I became a reluctant whistleblower to expose the lack of transparency and accountability from the City of Algonac government officials accountability from the City of Algonac government.
