In December 2001, over 2,000 Taliban prisoners surrendered in Northern Afghanistan under General Abdul Rashid Dostum. What happened next is one of the most horrifying — and buried — war crimes of the U.S. war in Afghanistan.

Prisoners were packed into containers without air, food, or water. Most suffocated or were shot through the trucks. When the containers were finally opened, bodies spilled out “like sardines.”

Candidate Obama promised an investigation in 2008. Once in office, he dropped it. Senator John Kerry was urged to act but backed down. The CIA’s response to questions was simply: “Go f** yourself.”*
