Students quickly confronted the group, heckling them, ripping down a sign, and following as they tried to leave, leading to a heated but non-violent standoff amid chants and shouts. Campus police and staff intervened promptly, escorting the intruders off the property without arrests or injuries. TSU's official statement praised students for remaining "professional and respectful," emphasizing that unauthorized demonstrations violate policy and that safety is paramount. The NAACP Nashville chapter condemned it as intentional provocation echoing racism, not free speech, urging HBCUs to stay vigilant. Post incident, group member Cam Higby claimed on X that students "stole our stuff" and "attacked" their car in a "riot," but TSU and videos refuted this, showing only verbal pushback. The event went viral on TikTok and X, with left-leaning users celebrating the students' clapback ("MAGA FAFO") and right-leaning ones decrying it as intolerance, calling for defunding TSU despite Trump's prior HBCU support.
