EA Going Private in $50 BILLION Deal Could Be an Example for Studios Need to Follow

There is talk going around that major video game company Electronic Arts, EA, will be taken private in a deal that could be up to $50 billion.

This would be a massive shake-up in the gaming industry with many unsure what this could do, but there is also the strong potential this could fix many problems plaguing the industry. One major issue is that gaming studios have gone crazy with their budgets which have forced them to try and play things safe in order to maximize the audience. A company such as EA going private would likely mean mass layoffs in order to reduce budgets. Also, without share holders to answer to the company can focus on long term growth instead of simply focusing on quarter to quarter earnings reports.
