Too Many Keys 🔑 for One House 🏡! Time to Simplify the Locks 🔒

Stopped by Lowe’s Home Improvement today to grab a set of new locks — because this house had a serious key problem.

The homeowner had way too many keys for the property. Some doors even required two different keys each. In total, I was carrying close to 10 keys just for one house. That’s ridiculous — and a headache for both me as the property manager and any future tenant trying to live here.

So, I’m simplifying things:

🛒 Buy new knobs and deadbolts from Lowe’s.

🔧 Switch out the old mismatched locks.

🔑 Reduce the number of keys down to just a couple that work for the whole property.

💡 Why this matters in property management:

Too many keys = too much confusion. Simplicity keeps things smooth for everyone.

Tenants want ease of access, not a key ring that looks like it belongs to a janitor.

Fewer keys = better security, organization, and professionalism.

👉 Part of property management is making life easier for both the homeowner and the tenant. And something as simple as rekeying locks can make a big difference in efficiency and peace of mind.

Another step toward making this home tenant-ready and keeping things simple.
Let’s Get to Work! Let’s Go! 💪
