"We got you ten minutes."
After a negotiation, the RCMP agreed to bring a bag of electrolytes to a severely dehydrated ostrich hen with an injured leg. The hen was injured several days ago after running into a fence due to being terrorized by government drones and helicopters.
An RCMP PLT officer then curtly told
BC Universal Ostrich Farm owner Dave that his brief time with the birds earlier in the day was a one time deal that the RCMP made happen. They will not allow him or anyone else besides the CFIA or their agents into the pens again.
Both farm owners Karen and Dave pleaded with the RCMP to film the
CFIA agent administering the bag of fluid due to the apparent inexperience of CFIA officials.
The RCMP officer initially appeared willing to do it, but after clarifying questions from Jim Kerr, it's unclear if police will film whatever happens to the bag.
