Walmart Super Center 541 Three Day Sewage Leak

On Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Walmart Supercenter in Covington, Louisiana, I witnessed and filmed severe health and safety violations.

For three days over that weekend, sewage flooded the parking lot, including the bays designated for the Online Pickup & Delivery (OPD) department. Food was being staged and handled directly in this area, where raw sewage was present.

As part of normal procedure, empty baskets are placed on the ground after unloading. With sewage flooding the bays, these baskets—and sometimes food dropped during unloading—came into direct contact with contamination. The wheels of carts also rolled through sewage and were brought back into the building where food was stored and distributed. Customers were never informed when food or equipment had been exposed.

Employees became physically ill on site—some were vomiting from exposure. Despite this, management ignored the biohazard. Allowing sewage to contaminate food handling areas and drain into a ditch constitutes a violation of the Clean Water Act of 1972 and creates a serious public health risk.

I resigned my position because of these unsafe and unacceptable conditions. Immediate remediation and investigation are necessary to protect both employees and the public.

Sewage is no joke, you have a cut on your foot it can get a infection that will kill you. If someone at Walmart can help look into this. A child drops a toy in it they can die.
