MZTV 1830: This is Why We Are Not Born Again

Besides believing in The Trinity, Christians tell us that being born again is THE requirement for salvation. Do they have any idea what being "born again" means? No, they don't. Is this a problem? Yes, it is.

Jesus said to a Pharisee named Nicodemus, "YE must be born again" (John 3:7). This is helpful in the King James because it highlights the plural. Jesus was not telling Nicodemus that he, PERSONALLY, had to be born again (the poor guy had no idea what Jesus was talking about in any case), but that the nation must be born again. He then chided the Pharisee for not knowing about it, as it was written in his Scriptures (Isaiah 66:8) that a nation would be born in a day. This, of course, referred to the nation Israel.

Thus, being "born again" is an Israel truth belonging to the Circumcision gospel. It is not a part of our gospel, that is, the gospel given by the glorified Christ to the nations, via Paul. Our truth is much more radical; we are a new CREATION. Whereas being born again is a reformation of the same raw material, being a new creation is the complete destruction of the old material (nothing being reformed here), and a fresh start. Thus, "our old humanity was crucified with Christ" (Romans 6:6). We do not wrestle against, or expect anything good to come out of the old humanity. It's dead and gone. Now, "all things are new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

You'll never hear anything this radical in the Circumcision gospel.
