Trials Purify Hearts to Know Christ's Love

St. Paul’s tribulations are the glory of the Ephesians because their salvation came through Christ’s suffering on the cross. St. Paul prays that the Ephesians, and by extension all believers, would not only know God’s love intellectually but also experience it deeply in their hearts. This deeper experience of God’s love, which surpasses knowledge, comes through purification and conforming to Christ, often through trials and suffering.
