Robin Trower - Beyond The Mist (Live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin 1985) FM Broadcast
Robin Leonard Trower, born on 9 March 1945 in Catford, London, and raised in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, began his music career in 1962 with the band The Paramounts, which later disbanded in 1966. He joined Procol Harum in June 1967, contributing to their first five albums until mid-1971, writing notable tracks like "Whisky Train." Seeking more creative freedom, Trower left to form the Robin Trower Band in 1973 with bassist and vocalist James Dewar and drummer Reg Isidore, later replaced by Bill Lordan. His early solo work, including the 1974 album Bridge of Sighs, was produced by former Procol Harum bandmate Matthew Fisher and earned four consecutive gold-certified albums from 1974 to 1977, charting well in the US and Canada.
Trower's career faced challenges in the 1980s, leading to his brief return to Procol Harum for their 1991 album The Prodigal Stranger before resuming his solo career. He collaborated with Jack Bruce on albums like BLT (1981) and Truce (1982), and later worked with various musicians, including Davey Pattison and Dave Bronze on albums like Living Out of Time (2003). Recent releases include No More Worlds to Conquer (2022) with featured vocalist Sari Schorr on Joyful Sky (2023), and his most recent album, Come and Find Me, released in 2025. Health issues led to tour cancellations in 2024, but he announced a return to performing in 2025.
