Traditional Lies

Colossians 2:8 "
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces[a] of this world rather than on Christ."

My quote touches on themes of truth, tradition, and the nature of beliefs, which can be found in various scriptural contexts. While it may not match any scripture verbatim, similar ideas appear in different texts.

For example:

Proverbs 30:6 "Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar." This suggests the importance of truth in communication and tradition.

John 8:32 "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." This emphasizes the value of truth over falsehood.

Matthew 15:9 "They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules." This indicates that traditions not grounded in truth can be misleading causing division, over time. Yet People find it hard to let go. In a sea of silver swirls, one fish dares to break the tide,
As its bold turn sparks a ripple, a wave of change soon follows wide.

We need to examine things we grew up believing? Remember many were taught about Santa. It was a deception. Lies, even if perpetuated over time, do not become truth simply through acceptance or tradition. Examine specific beliefs you hold.

Truth sets People Free. Change is difficult but becomes Gratifying and leads to Peace.
