A near total media blackout has obscured the mass murder of Christians overseas, with mainstream outlets like CNN and BBC largely ignoring the systematic genocide unfolding in regions like the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, Syria, and Burkina Faso. These incidents, contributed to 40,000 Christian deaths from 2021-2025, are underreported, enabling impunity as the silent serial murder of Christians spreads into Europe and the United States. In recent years, Christians in Europe have faced a disturbing escalation in targeted attacks and hate crimes, with the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe (OIDAC) documenting 2,444 incidents across 35 countries in 2023 alone. France emerged as the epicenter, accounting for nearly 1,000 cases, roughly 41% of the European total, predominantly vandalism and arson against churches and cemeteries, with actual and attempted arsons surging over 30% in 2024, including the devastating fire that gutted the historic Church of the Immaculate Conception in Saint Omer on September 2, 2024. In the United Kingdom, incidents climbed above 700, highlighted by a knife attack on a Muslim convert to Christianity in England, where his assailant declared he "deserved to die" for renouncing Islam, while Germany reported a 105% rise to 277 crimes, underscoring a broader trend of intolerance amid rising secularism and cultural tensions that has left at least 2,000 Christian places of worship damaged continent wide. In the United States, attacks on Christians and Christian institutions have surged, with the Family Research Council documenting 485 hostile incidents against churches in 2023, a 143% increase from 2022, including vandalism, arson, and physical assaults, followed by 321 incidents in the first nine months of 2024. The FBI’s 2023 hate crime statistics reported 1,158 anti-Christian incidents, a 37% rise from the previous year, with assaults and harassment targeting worshippers often linked to ideological polarization over issues like abortion and gender ideology. This growing hostility, coupled with cultural shifts marginalizing religious expression, is awakening an old battleground that has plagued civilizations throughout history.
