SUDA 51 and SWERY are two of video game’s, shall we say, more creative minds. Their offerings are off the beaten path, and if you’ve played Deadly Premonition, No More Heroes, or Killer7, you have an idea of what they’re about as video game developers.

HOTEL BARCELONA is a SUDA/SWERY 2D action-roguelike collaboration in which you play a federal marshall named Justine who is possessed by a murderer. Your mission: together you must eradicate every serial killer from Hotel Barcelona. Every time you die, echoes of your past selves accompany you on your next run, and multiply your strength. Each of the seven areas celebrates a different sub-genre of 1980s American horror films the game is inspired by. You can play single-player or online co-op multiplayer with up to three players, with an option for a fourth for a more PvP experience.

HOTEL BARCELONA is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
