Chasing Illusions

Earthly things without God is the true illusion. The only real and lasting meaning comes from receiving life as a gift from God and fearing him by keeping his commandments vexation of spirit" or "striving after wind" futility of worldly pursuits chasing after illusions
Jesus and the writer of Ecclesiastes warn us that by chasing things in this world we are chasing something we can never catch, we are toiling after something we can never have, or trying to be something we can never be Man, after all his labor, is no nearer finding rest than the sun, the wind, or the current of the river. His soul will find no rest, if he has it not from God.
