Flaming Ice? The Ultimate Survival Fuel!

Today we make the ultimate survival fuel out of ingredients that you can find at home! First you'll need calcium carbonate (sourced from whiteboard chalk, Tums antacid tablets, limestone, or even seashells or eggshells (after calcinating in a furnace). Then you'll need to grind it to a fine powder and mix in a 1g:25ml ratio with 5% distilled white vinegar.

After it's done reacting we filter it, concentrate it on a hot plate until a saturated solution is formed, then put it in the freezer to form a supersaturated solution of calcium acetate.

The calcium acetate can then be added to 99% alcohol to form a clean burning gel fuel that is even safe to use indoors! It can be put in tins as a survival fuel, used to heat up food or boil water, or for heating. It can even be safely juggled for a short time without burning your hands! (Don't try this at home)
