Padma Shri Pt. Vijay Ghate is recognized as one of the most brilliant and exciting tabla players of the present generation. Born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, he started tabla at an early age of three. He then moved to Mumbai and learned for over twelve years under his Guruji Suresh Talwalkar.
