Speaker Johnson & Other House GOP Leaders on Day 2 of Gov't Shutdown

"Welcome to day two of the Democratic shutdown," said House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA) as he and other House Republican leaders discussed the shutdown and Republican efforts to pass a "clean" continuing resolution. He answered questions on potential cuts to federal government jobs by the Trump administration and gave advice to his colleague, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY), regarding social media memes posted by the president. "To my friend Hakeem, man, just ignore it. Gavin Newsom was trolling me last night ... and I thought it was hilarious ... for all of my friends, R's and D's, don't respond to it. Get to work, do the people's business," said Speaker Johnson.
