The Alma and Global Sumud flotillas carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza were intercepted by the Israeli Navy in international waters, with reports of boarding, water cannons, and vessels being rammed.

Activists from more than 40 countries described being surrounded, communications jammed, and threatened with forced diversion to Ashdod port.

Global protests erupted in Greece, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Tunisia condemning Israel’s actions and calling for the release of detained activists. Despite attacks, at the time this segment was filmed several flotilla boats reportedly remained at sea, continuing their mission toward Gaza under heavy pressure.
